Facilities: Air-condition, TV, balcony, grill, internet. House: Spacious 110 m2 apartment with 3 bedrooms, 2 with air condition, the 3. bedroom is inside the house and the rock and will stay cool. Big kitchen and a separate living room. The apartment is on the waterfront in first floor of the house and has stunning views from the bedrooms and the balcony. The apartment is in the centre of Komarna close to the mini markets and the restaurants. The sea is just outside the apartment and it is a very nice place to swim.
Places to eat and shop Eating out near Komarna and Klek A typical lunch costs around 5 Euro including beverage. A delicious wine 'n' dine with fish or meat as the main course will set you back 10-20 Euro. But be prepared to pay a little more if you go to typical tourist restaurants in Ston or Dubrovnik.
The restaurant in Villa Bili is the only option if you want to dine out in Komarna. It has a good kitchen and very reasonable prices. You don't have to eat there though. You can of course settle for an ice-cream, a soft drink or a cup of coffee.
You may also have a meal at the Konoba close to Bili. Just remember to order it the day before - or at least several hours in advance. They will then prepare anything you want based on fresh meat or fish.
On the coastal road towards Klek there is a restaurant in Duboka. Villa Malo Misto, It seems to be open all year and has a good selection of food and a good kitchen - and also prices at the upper end of what you expect in Croatia. The restaurant is closed on Sundays.
For a greater selection of restaurants you should go to Klek three km to the south. Restaurant Adriatic on the coastal road is open most of the year. Down by the beach we can recommend the restaurant in Hotel Plaza. It has a good kitchen and a professional service.
Neum further five km. down the coast is another option. There you will always be able to find somewhere to eat. Try to turn right and drive down towards the beach where you may find more restaurants both on the way down and at the end where you may park for free outside the season. In high season the parking fee is 5 Kuna per hour.
In the other direction there are two restaurants opposite the petrol station in Opuzen and also a selection of good restaurants in Metkovic 20 km. away. But unless you want to get away from the "touristy atmosphere" in Klek or Neum there is really no reason to drive that far.
Villa Neretva on the road between Opuzen and Metkovic has a good reputation for serving excellent local food, http://www.restaurant-villa-neretva.hr/
If you want to go a little further on we recommend a meal at "Duda i Mate" in Vid. This is the village that is on top of the ancient Narona. Restaurant "Duda i Mate" is on the left just as you enter the village at the place where the Roman Forum used to be and close to the river.
Shopping There is a Mini Market in the centre of Komarna just past Villa Bili. It is easy to find, just look at the colour. The shop has a good selection for your everyday needs. There will be fresh bread in the morning and cold drinks and ice cream whenever you need it. The shop is open from 7:00 in the morning to between 15:00 and 21:00 - and Sunday they may close as early as 13:00. It is only open during high season.
There are supermarkets and shops in Klek and there are more in Neum (remember your passport and papers for the car if you go to Neum). In Neum the shopping can be cheaper because of a lower tax. There are several department stores and many smaller shops. There are some roadside shops close to Opuzen at the main road, and Metkovic has a really nice selection of small shops and department stores (ask for Mercator and Jure Shop).
Then there is Dubrovnik, off course, an hour's drive away and a small adventure whether you want to shop or just enjoy the city. If you shop a lot in Dubrovnik please keep the receipts so there will be no problem when you pass the customs in Neum.
