Stunning Old House with Modern Amenities, Minutes from the Waters Edge. A very large property that can accommodate 12+. In a thriving market town, it is the perfect place to explore this part of France. Now with wireless broadband internet, new outdoor furniture, bedding and cushions! + recently refurbished bathrooms as of spring 2008 so the whole place is really fab - A little about the location of the house - we are in one of the smartest streets, with beautiful detached houses running down to the river - so although it is very quiet and away from the bustle of the town centre it is just a few minutes to all the shops and riverside restaurants -so perfect if you don't have a car or if you don't want to drink and drive. On the other hand the pool, garden and barbecue area is surrounded by a high wall, once you're home it really feels like you are in the French countryside.
Bedrooms: Bedroom 1, 2 & 3 have double beds (one is on ground floor so can be used by elderly or disabled couple). Bedrooms 4, 5 and 6 have twin beds and 7 is a kids room with bunks. All are large with old cupboards and furniture, clean duvets and pucka linen.
Bathrooms: 3 bathrooms with separate toilets, one on each floor, with an outside toilet for the pool area. 2 bath tubs 1 shower 4 toilets. Kitchen: The kitchen is an awesome space recently decorated with minstral gallery and spiral staircase, with a very large dining table, sofas, dishwasher, 2 fridges, gas cooker, 2 sinks - a cooks paradise open plan with french windows leading to child safe pool. Utility Room: Washing machine and ironing facilities, staff come on Saturday to do laundry and gardening and daily attend to pool. Living Rooms: Another spiral staircase leads up to a vaulted spare sleeping area, with a child safe balcony looking down into the kitchen, There is more dining and seating areas. The house has new boilers and pool pumphouse but also has an open fire. Other: Beside the pool is another dining area, well lit with adobe bar-b-que, evenings here under the fig tree and palms will be cherished. Cleaning/towels/ linen/maid service: The house has a linen cupboard the size of a small bedroom - with a large stock of towels and sheets two or three week bookings can have the linen changed on Saturdays.
Notes on accommodation This dream house is both child and elderly friendly, as a family home rather than a holiday let it is beautifully furnished and decorated, because it is so large in the summer the metre thick walls keep it lovely and cool - well lit with large windows The perfect place for a large family or a group of familes to holiday. As the house is spread over such a large area it is easy for small groups to gather in different places without distubing others- but importantly it is possible to sit every one inside or out for meals- you will love it here I am sure.

Outside The private pool and garden are lovingly looked after by Lin, the property manager, who lives in the village. She makes sure the pool is exactly right and will wait to welcome you with a bottle of wine... The pool is large and heated by the sun, and the garden is overlooked with giant palm trees and has a very fruitful fig tree.
Coast/Beach The house is a couple of kms from beach, nice to cycle there along the river side. I prefer St Vincent beach which is between Cap Agde and Grau Agde, watersports and fishing.
Travel Agde is great for Ryanair passengers, nearby train from both Montpellier and Carcasonne and house is walking distance from Agde railway station.
Distances There is so much to do and see, but this a place for beach and culture, for day trips into the hills and mountains, for picnics and vinyards, for exploring the Cathar country and the medieval towns....I could go on...
Further details Last count there are 130 authentic restaurants in Agde, walking distance to supermarket, bakery and newspapers. We went to Pezenas recently, having never been there before -and it was stunning with loads of antique shops -a real gem. (FR150)

Normally leave on Saturday 10am and arrive at 4pm but can be flexible if an early bird needs to drop of luggage or vehicle.
