Nestled in Olive Trees, Great Base for Travel and Beach

Located in the first hills behind Forte dei Marmi, an old farmhouse which has recently been rebuilt. It is a nice mix of rustic and clean modern. Surrounded by olive trees with a view across a beautiful valley, the hillsides are covered by terraced vineyards and olive groves. The morning birdsong is fantastic. Pietrasanta is filled with sculpture studios and art galleries. There are many good restaurants, and a nice piazza where one can sit outdoors past midnight. There are events and festivals all through the summer. The beach is 15 mins away at Forte dei Marmi, which features all the top designer shops, (Prada, Gucci, etc.) and a large high quality weekly market. From here you can visit many of Italy's cultural centers. Florence, Lucca, Pisa, Volterra and Cinque Terre are all easy day trips. Into the nearby mountains of the Alpi Apuani one can hike all day, visit an underground grotto, or stop for lunch at one of the many mountain inns (rifugio), open to the public.

Pisa Airport is 30-40 minutes distant and is served by Ryanair from Birmingham, Bournemouth, Dublin, East Midlands, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Liverpool and London Stansted. Easyjet flies from Bristol, Gatwick and Luton. British Airways from Gatwick. Alitalia flies from Aberdeen, Bristol, Cardiff, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Humberside, Leeds, Gatwick, Manchester, Newcastle, Norwich, Southampton and Teeside. Hire cars are available at airport. Local train service at Forte dei Marmi station.

15 mins drive to beach at Forte dei Marmi, where one can hire beach cabins, umbrellas, and chairs. 5 mins north of Forte dei Marmi is the free beach at Cinquale.
