Resort area Kalkan was occupied by the Greeks for a long time and is surrounded by the mountain massive Taunus. Small fishing harbour and small beach in Kalkan. A few kilometers away is the Petara harbour which can be reached from Kalkan by minibus. There is a market every Thursday morning. Organized trips to the blue caves on the island of Kekova. Cosy, quiet resort, in the north-western part of the region directly by the sea, on an on a slope, in an idyllic position, 220 km south-west from Antalya. All shops, restaurants etc. in the resort. Access: road 400 Dalaman - Fethiye - Antalya. Harbour Kalkan. For arrivals by plane: airport Dalaman (DLM) 145 km, Antalya (AYT) 220 km. Kalkan in summer Rocky beach. Bathing bay. The former Greek Kalamaki is surrounded by the Taurus mountains. It's small picturesque harbour together with the Greek island of Meis stretching in front completes the picture. The magnificent bathing bay of Kaputas and the well-known Turkuvaz Blue Caves stretch east from Kalkan. Just a few years ago, time appeared to stand still in this fishing village, but meanwhile tourism has also meant change here if in a modest way.
